The Hog and Apple’s new tasting room ‘Old Spot’ and our new website
After a summer of weddings and events, The Hog and Apple have finished their conversion of the unit next door. Acting as dual purpose, its our official meeting and tasting room for all our weddings and events but also as our concept restaurant pop up ‘Old Spot’
This dynamic and interesting space is a mix of barn/farmhouse luxe with industrial elements left over from the original structure.
Robbie has stripped back the building to bare brick walls, old floorboards and then insulated, painted and varnished to create the usable blank canvas. The next stage is to decorate the walls with street art and some quirky metal sculptures. A wood burner ready for winter meetings and generally start to think about how to really make the room extra special so visiting here is as much a part of the experience.
We have had some amazing help from Scawton Sawmill who have been brilliant commissioning us the most unbelievable ‘game of thrones’ style bespoke dining table. It approx 10 feet long, solid oak and a perfect centrepiece to the room.
The room is now in use and we have had our first full private dining party in for a wedding next year. When once we would all go into our little loft, now we were able to put on a fantastic full dining experience for the clients.
Alongside this, we can finally announce that our new website has launched! It’s been a long time in the pipeline but we need to say a special thanks to Ben Cole design who has stuck with us and designed the full site for us – We hope you like it!
